They have different dials, bracelets and two completely different movements. However, both the Rolex Datejust II and the Day-Date II are presented in the same size case and are among those watches that are almost identical to each other. Rolex has released the Datejust II and Day-Date II in large classic cases. The Datejust and Day-Date models sold in the past few years have been 36mm wide. For a long time this size was considered acceptable, but over the past decade, men have begun to prefer large watches. Rolex began producing large versions of their classic watches. Thus, the 41mm Datejust and Day-Date models were born, although 36mm versions were still in production. Rolex versions of 36 mm and smaller are mostly preferred by women. Both the Datejust II and the Day-Date II come in an Oyster Rolex case. Each model comes with only one of the bracelet options. Day-Date II only comes with a President bracelet. It has three rounded links and is a more modern version of the famous bracelet. This bracelet fits very comfortably on the wrist and has a polished center link and two matte links on the sides. The Datejust II comes with an Oyster bracelet, which also features three links in a row with a polished center clip. The Oyster is more athletic than the President because the connections are larger. It cannot be said that one bracelet is better than the other, they have stylistic differences. The Oyster style bracelet is a simpler version of the wonderful bracelet on the Rolex Submariner. It doesn't have a Glidelock and looks a little different (the Submariner doesn't have a polished center link). The Oyster bracelet has a distinctive clasp that is much smaller than a historic Rolex watch. Milled metal without stamps. The clasp closes securely and opens very softly. In the President bracelet, the system is almost identical, but it is designed to hide the clasp. Overall, none of the bracelets is better than the other. You get a more formal look and probably a little more comfort with the President bracelet, while the Oyster bracelet has a sportier look. The most distinctive feature of both the Datejust II and Day-Date II watches is the famous fluted bezel. There are models with polished bezels. But what's interesting about grooved? The Rolex fluted bezel is made from precious metal only. For example, even with all steel versions of the Datejust II, the bezel is 18K white gold. If you want an all-steel Datejust II you can opt for a steel domed bezel. Rolex produces its fluted bezel in all colors of gold without using platinum at all. Importantly, Rolex offered many other versions of the Day-Date II before they made the Datejust II. However, each year they release new models and gradually strengthen the position of the Datejust II. The Datejust II is currently available in stainless steel (Ref. 116300), bicolors in steel and 18K yellow gold (Ref. 116 333), and stainless steel and 18K white gold (Ref. 116334). Each of these models is also varied thanks to the design of the dial. Rolex positions the Day-Date II collection much higher than the Datejust II. The Day-Date II is only available in precious metal cases and does not have a steel version in the model range.
